What Is a Tailor-Made Umrah Package?
A tailor-made Umrah package is a trip built from your own requirements — hotels, room, meals, dates, flights, nights in each city, guide and transfers — instead of a fixed itinerary. Insha Travel quotes it for your dates, and a flight-inclusive booking is ATOL protected (ATOL 74904) like every other package we sell.

for private groups
It differs from the two other ways to book. A ready-made Umrah package has its hotels, nights and price already set. Booking flights and hotels yourself gives you separate bookings to manage; a tailor-made package with flights from us is one booking, with one price and one ATOL certificate.
What Can You Customise in Your Umrah Package?
- Hotels: any hotel in Makkah and Madinah, at any star level, and you can mix them.
- Room: a Kaaba-view or Haram-view room, and how many people share.
- Meals: room only, breakfast, half board or full board.
- Dates and length: your own dates and any number of nights.
- City order: Makkah first or Madinah first, with the nights split as you choose.
- Flights: any UK airport, a preferred airline, landing in Jeddah or Madinah, or no flights at all.
- Transfers: shared, private, or wheelchair-accessible.
- Guidance: a private Umrah guide in your language, guided Ziyarat, or the Haramain train.
How Much Does a Tailor-Made Umrah Package Cost?
A tailor-made Umrah package is priced for your dates and choices, so it has no fixed price. Our ready-made packages give a guide: from £500 per person for four sharing on Economy 7 Nights to £1,885 per person for two sharing on Luxury 14 Nights.
Five choices move the price most: the hotel level, how many share a room, the number of nights, the ages of the travellers and whether flights are included. The table shows what each one does, using our ready-made packages as the example.
| Your choice | Option | Price per person |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel level 10 nights, four sharing, with flights | Economy | £560 |
| 3 Star | £585 | |
| 4 Star | £630 | |
| 5 Star | £935 | |
| Luxury | £1,385 | |
| Room sharing 4 Star, 10 nights, with flights | Four sharing | £630 |
| Three sharing | £730 | |
| Two sharing | £880 | |
| Own room | £1,190 | |
| Length 4 Star, four sharing, with flights | 7 nights | £580 |
| 10 nights | £630 | |
| 14 nights | £730 | |
| Age 4 Star, 10 nights, four sharing, with flights | Adult | £630 |
| Youth 12 to 15 | £595 | |
| Child 2 to 11 | £560 | |
| Child in the parents' bed | £450 | |
| Infant under 2 | £195 | |
| Flights Economy, four sharing | With flights, 7 nights | £500 |
| Land package without flights, 5 nights | £350 |
On top of these, the price rises with a hotel closer to the Haram, a Kaaba-view room, a fuller meal plan, private transfers and peak dates such as Umrah in Ramadan and UK school holidays. Tell us your budget per person in the quote form and we quote the hotels and dates closest to it.
Can You Request Any Hotel or a Kaaba-View Room?

Yes. Through our contracts with hotels across Makkah and Madinah, you can request any hotel at any star level, including a Kaaba-view or Haram-view room. We check availability for your dates and quote the options. A view is confirmed only when the hotel confirms the room, and a hotel beside the Haram does not by itself mean a Kaaba view.
Hotels sell the view as a room category with its own rate: Kaaba view, partial Kaaba view, Haram view or city view. Name the category you want, and your quote names the category the hotel has confirmed.
You can mix tiers, for example a 5-star hotel beside the Haram in Makkah with a 4-star hotel 50 m from Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah. Each hotel's official Saudi Ministry of Tourism rating, its distance to the mosque and its licence number are on its page in our hotel guide.
Which Meal Plans and Room Types Can You Choose?
You can choose room only, breakfast, half board (breakfast and dinner) or full board (all three meals), depending on what the hotel offers.
Prices are per person and fall as more people share a room: four, three or two sharing, or a single room at a higher rate. Youths aged 12 to 15, children aged 2 to 11, a child sharing the parents' bed and infants under 2 each have their own rate, so give every child's age when you ask for a quote. Rooms and rates for parents and children are covered in Umrah packages for families.
Can You Choose Your UK Airport, Airline and Dates?
Yes. We book flights from any UK airport on the dates you choose. Saudia is the only airline flying direct from the UK, to Jeddah, from Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, and from Birmingham on selected dates; there is no direct flight to Madinah, and every other UK airport connects through a hub. Connections run through Abu Dhabi, Doha, Bahrain, Cairo or Istanbul, and you can land in Jeddah or Madinah and fly home from either.
The only dates we cannot book are those around Hajj. Saudi Arabia's published calendar for the 1448 Umrah season ends new Umrah visas on 9 March 2027, makes 23 March 2027 the last day to enter and 7 April 2027 the last day to leave. No date has been announced yet for Umrah to reopen after Hajj 2027; our estimate is early June 2027.
Can You Book Umrah Without Flights?
Yes. If you have your own flights, for example booked with airline points, we arrange everything on the ground: hotels in Makkah and Madinah, transfers and the Saudi visa.
A land package without flights starts at £350 per adult with four sharing for five nights.
Send us your flight numbers and arrival airport, Jeddah or Madinah, so the airport transfer is booked for your arrival. ATOL protection applies to bookings that include flights, so a land package is not an ATOL booking; our booking terms apply to it.
How Can You Split Your Nights Between Makkah and Madinah?
Any way you like. Our ready-made packages split 7 nights as 4 and 3, 10 as 5 and 5, and 14 as 7 and 7; a tailor-made trip can stay longer in either city or start in Madinah.
Starting in Madinah means the Ihram is put on later, at the Miqat on the road to Makkah, rather than before the flight.
What Does a Private Umrah Package Include?
A private Umrah package means your own party travels on its own dates, with private transfers and, if you want one, your own guide. You share no vehicle with another group and keep your own pace.
Transfers follow the hotel level on our ready-made packages: shared on Economy and 3 Star, private on 4 Star, 5 Star and Luxury. A tailor-made trip can have private transfers at any level. Road transfers are included; the Haramain high-speed train between Makkah and Madinah can be quoted as an upgrade.
A private group works best with up to 12 pilgrims per Umrah guide, who performs Umrah with you and helps at every step. Guides speak English, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali and other languages, and scholar-led groups are larger. Our guide to travelling as a group covers larger parties, and guided visits are described in Ziyarat places in Makkah and Madinah.
Can You Arrange Umrah for Wheelchair Users?
Yes. For travellers with limited mobility, we arrange wheelchair-accessible transfers and hotels with wheelchair access on request. Tell us who needs support, how far they can walk, whether they stay in the wheelchair during transfers and the room and bathroom features they need, so we can ask the hotel before we quote.
Can You Combine Umrah with Dubai, Istanbul or a Halal Holiday?
Yes. We arrange Umrah-plus trips and halal holidays on request, such as a few nights in Dubai or Istanbul on the way out or on the way home. Our Umrah and Istanbul package shows one example: four nights in Istanbul within a 14-night trip.
Entry rules for the second country depend on your passport: check its page on GOV.UK foreign travel advice before you book.
What Does Your Umrah Quote Show?
Your quote names the hotels, the flights and the price per person, so you can compare it line by line. It shows:
- Hotels: the named hotel in Makkah and in Madinah, the nights in each, the room category and how many share.
- Meals: the meal plan at each hotel.
- Flights: the UK airport, the airline, and whether the flight is direct or connects. On Saudia, Zamzam water is carried on top of your baggage allowance; other airlines set their own rules, and we tell you the allowance before you pay.
- Transfers: shared or private, and any Haramain train journey.
- Travel documents: Every package includes the Saudi visa, with its cost in the price. Pilgrims with other passports are welcome too: the visa for your nationality is confirmed in your quote.
- Cost: the amount per person for your room sharing and ages.
A quote is free. It is priced on the flight seats and hotel rooms available that day, so your room plan and the final price are confirmed before you pay.
