Is It Better to Do Umrah During Ramadan?
For reward, yes: the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that an Umrah performed in Ramadan is equal to a Hajj in reward, a virtue found in no other month. It does not replace the obligation of Hajj. Taraweeh fills Masjid al-Haram every night, the Quran was first revealed in this month, and the holy cities take on an atmosphere of devotion found at no other time. In return, Ramadan is the busiest and dearest season of the year, and its dates and hotels sell out months in advance.

When Is Ramadan 2027?
Ramadan 2027 is expected to run from about 8 February to 8 March, with Eid al-Fitr around 9 March; the dates move about eleven days earlier each year and are confirmed by the sighting of the moon. Falling in late winter, it is a mild Ramadan to fast in: Makkah averages 33°C by day in February and 35°C in March, and Madinah 27°C and 31°C.

How Much Does Umrah in Ramadan Cost?
For the last ten nights of Ramadan 2027, prices per adult with four sharing are £1,585 flying from Manchester, £1,630 flying from Birmingham and £2,290 on the direct Saudia flight from Heathrow; each is an eleven-night package with half board, private transfers, a group Umrah guide and guided Ziyarat. Other Ramadan dates are priced for your dates: a week in the first or second Ashra usually costs less than the last ten nights. Ramadan costs more than the rest of the year, when a week starts at £500 per adult with four sharing, because demand for hotels near the Haram is far greater than the rooms available.

What Do the Last 10 Nights Ramadan Umrah Packages for 2027 Include?
Eleven nights from 27 February to 10 March 2027, six in Makkah and five in Madinah, in 4-star hotels with breakfast and dinner, private transfers, a group Umrah guide, guided Ziyarat in both cities and the visa. By room, the Manchester package costs £1,585 per adult with four sharing, £1,705 with three and £1,885 with two; the Heathrow departure costs £2,290, £2,410 and £2,590.

Ramadan divides into three ten-day periods, called Ashras, and the one you choose shapes both the experience and the price. Tell us your Ashra and tier, and we confirm availability and the price for those dates.
First Ashra
About 8 to 17 February 2027. The calmest and most affordable part of Ramadan, and a good choice for a first Ramadan Umrah; the English half-term (15 to 19 February) begins inside it.
Second Ashra
About 18 to 27 February. Busier and dearer than the first ten days, and a middle option between calm and the peak.
Last Ashra
From about 28 February. Laylat al-Qadr and the spiritual peak: the busiest and most expensive nights, and the first to book out.

FAMILIES IN RAMADAN
What Does a Ramadan Umrah Cost a Family of Four?
On the last ten nights, two adults and two children aged 2 to 11 sharing one room pay £5,810 together on the Manchester package and £8,630 on the Heathrow departure. An infant under 2 costs £490 on the Manchester package. Families who need the school holidays can use the February half-term, which falls in Ramadan in 2027 and is priced for those dates; Umrah packages for parents and children sets out rooms and ages.
A DAY IN RAMADAN
What Is a Day of Ramadan Umrah Like?
It has its own rhythm: suhoor before Fajr, a day of fasting with time for rest and Quran, iftar at sunset, then Taraweeh after Isha. At iftar, dates and water are shared across the courtyards of Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi; Taraweeh is led by the imams of the Haram, and in the last ten nights Qiyam continues deep into the night. Our last-ten-nights packages are half board, so the hotel's two meals are taken at suhoor and iftar. Many pilgrims perform Umrah itself at night after Taraweeh, when it is cooler and they are not fasting.
I'TIKAF AND FASTING
Can You Perform I'tikaf, and How Do You Stay Well While Fasting?
Yes. Many pilgrims travel for the last ten nights to perform I'tikaf, secluded worship, in Masjid al-Haram or Masjid an-Nabawi; places are registered in advance, so tell us when you book. To stay well, drink steadily between iftar and suhoor, eat balanced meals, pace Tawaf and Sa'i, rest through the day, and carry any medication with its timings adjusted for the fast. With sensible pacing a Ramadan Umrah is deeply rewarding rather than exhausting.

Which UK Cities and Airlines Fly for Ramadan Umrah?
Our dated last-ten-nights packages leave Heathrow, on Saudia's direct flight to Jeddah, Manchester and Birmingham; any other UK airport, and any other Ramadan date, can be quoted. Saudia is the only airline flying non-stop from the UK. Transfers in Saudi Arabia are private on these packages, and the Haramain high-speed train can be added between Makkah and Madinah.

EID AND THE HAJJ CUT-OFF
What Is the Last Umrah Entry Before Hajj in 2027?
23 March 2027 is the last day to enter: new Umrah visas stop on 9 March, and pilgrims must leave by 7 April. No date has been announced yet for Umrah to reopen after Hajj 2027; our estimate is early June 2027. So Ramadan is the last full season before the Hajj closure. You can stay on for Eid in Makkah, and a trip after Eid must be booked before the visas stop. Spring plans are covered on Easter Umrah in 2027.

Can You Book 3, 4 or 5 Star, a Group or a Custom Ramadan Umrah?
Yes. Any tier, any length from a week to the full month, and any hotel can be priced for Ramadan dates, and mosques can travel together. Compare ten-day Umrah for the classic one-Ashra stay, plan a mosque trip with group Umrah from the UK, fix meals and Ziyarat with all-inclusive Umrah stays, or build custom-made Umrah around a hotel you choose. BOOKING RAMADAN 2027
When Should You Book Ramadan Umrah 2027, and How?
As early as you can, ideally six to twelve months ahead, and earlier still for the last ten nights and for rooms with a Haram view: a £50 hold per person goes towards the price, 50% of the price is paid within 24 hours and the last payment falls 20 days before you fly, which is 7 February for our 27 February packages. Can I get a direct flight for a Ramadan Umrah?
Yes. Our Heathrow last-ten-nights departure flies direct to Jeddah with Saudia, which also flies non-stop from Gatwick and Manchester, and from Birmingham on selected dates.
Are suhoor and iftar included in Ramadan Umrah packages?
Our last-ten-nights packages are half board at both hotels, so two meals a day are included; other Ramadan packages follow the meal plan of their tier.
Is a Ramadan Umrah suitable for elderly pilgrims?
Yes, with planning: choose the first Ashra for calmer mosques, a hotel close to the Haram, and ask for wheelchair-accessible transfers, which are available on any tier.
Do women need a Mahram for Umrah in Ramadan?
No. Women aged 18 and over can perform Umrah without a Mahram, alone or with a ladies' group.
Is the Ramadan package a guided group or an independent trip?
The dated last-ten-nights packages travel with a group Umrah guide and guided Ziyarat; other Ramadan dates can be booked as an independent trip.
What is a 15 days Ramadan Umrah package?
A fortnight in Ramadan, usually across two Ashras, priced for your dates, tier and airport.
Can I pay for Ramadan Umrah in instalments, and what if I cancel?
Yes. £50 per person holds your booking and is part of the price; 50% of the price is due within 24 hours, and the balance 20 days before departure. The balance can be paid in up to two instalments, and a booking made within 20 days of departure is paid in full once the tickets are issued. Cancellations are made in writing by the lead passenger, and the booking terms apply.
What happens if my flight is cancelled or my visa is refused?
The booking terms set out what happens; take out travel insurance that covers cancellation when you book, because Insha Travel does not sell insurance.
Is there a cheap Ramadan Umrah?
The first Ashra, four sharing a room and a flexible airport keep the price lowest; among the last-ten-nights packages, Manchester is the lowest at £1,585 per adult with four sharing.
