For families, yes: every day of August falls in the English and Welsh school holidays, so children miss no school; the price of that is the summer's heat and holiday fares. August is the month to book early and plan around the temperature rather than the calendar.

Is August Hot in Makkah?
Very: Makkah averages 43°C by day and 30°C at night in August, and Madinah is hotter still, at 44°C and 31°C, its hottest month of the year. Wear loose, light cotton and comfortable sandals, keep a refillable bottle with you, and move Tawaf, Sa'i and the walk to the mosque into the night and early morning. Children and older pilgrims should rest in the hotel from late morning until Asr.

THE SCHOOL RETURN
How Do You Fit an August Umrah Around the Return to School?
Work back from the first day of term: schools in England and Wales return in early September 2027, and most Scottish schools in mid-August. The late-August bank holiday falls on 30 August, which saves a day of leave for working parents. Book as soon as your leave is agreed, because summer flights fill first, and give us the date you must be home.

What Does an August Umrah Cost a Family of Four?
£2,580 is the year-round total for a fifteen-night 3 Star stay with two adults and two children aged 2 to 11 in one room; your quote adds August's holiday pricing to that. The four-sharing price assumes four in one room; two in a double pay more each, three in a triple a little less than a double. Connecting rooms are guaranteed on request, and Umrah for families with children sets out the prices by age.

What Is a First-Class Umrah Package?
Our nearest equivalent is the Luxury tier: every meal at both hotels, a private luxury vehicle for transfers and a private Umrah guide, with a scholar on 10 and 14 nights. A Luxury week starts at £1,135 per adult with four sharing on year-round dates, and fixed meals, Ziyarat and private transfers are compared on all-inclusive Umrah from the UK.
AIRPORTS AND AIRLINES
Is Flying From Manchester or Birmingham Dearer Than Heathrow in August?
Not by rule: in August the fare depends on the day more than the airport, and we price more than one airport if you can travel from either. Saudia is the only airline flying direct from the UK, to Jeddah, from Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, and from Birmingham on selected dates; there is no direct flight to Madinah, and every other UK airport connects through a hub. British Airways has no direct flight to Saudi Arabia, and connecting routes are often cheaper than the non-stop.

Should You Book an August Umrah Yourself or as a Package?
In August a package usually makes more sense: holiday fares change fast, and a package fixes the flights, the visa, both hotels and the transfers in one booking, protected by ATOL when it includes flights. Booking each part yourself can work for flexible adults, but with children a single company responsible for the whole trip is worth more in the summer than in any other month.

Can You Join a Scholar-Led Umrah in the Summer?
Yes: 5 Star packages include a scholar-led Umrah guide, Luxury adds a scholar on 10 and 14 nights, and a private guide who speaks English, Urdu, Punjabi or Bengali can be added to any tier. Mosques and family groups can plan a summer departure with Umrah for groups from the UK. Women aged 18 and over do not need a Mahram for Umrah: see women's Umrah deals.

Should You Go in August or Wait for September?
Wait for September if you can travel in term time: the prices return to year-round rates, and the heat is barely lower. Families tied to the school calendar have August, or Umrah in the month of Ramadan at half-term in the winter; Easter Umrah dates explains why spring trips end in early April.

£50 per person holds your booking and is part of the price; 50% of the price is due within 24 hours, and the balance 20 days before departure. Every package with flights is protected by ATOL 74904. Cancellations are made in writing by the lead passenger, and the booking terms apply: see the cancellation and refund terms.

Can I do Umrah in August 2027?
Yes. Umrah is open all through August, in the middle of the season that runs from June to the spring.
Which month is best for Umrah in 2027?
It depends on what you need: January for cool weather and low prices, Ramadan for the month itself, and August only if you must travel in the school holidays.

Is the ACWY vaccine required for Umrah in August?
Yes. Umrah pilgrims need a meningitis ACWY vaccination certificate. Carry the certificate on the trip.
