How Do You Fly From Glasgow to Jeddah for Umrah?
With one connection: no airline flies direct from Scotland to Saudi Arabia, so you change planes at a hub — Emirates, for example, flies to Dubai from both Glasgow and Edinburgh — and continue to Jeddah or Madinah. Your quote names the airline, the stop and the connection time for your dates; we pick the shortest connection the dates allow. Flying into Jeddah, you put on Ihram before the second flight lands; flying into Madinah, you enter it later at Dhul Hulayfah. Keep documents and a change of clothes in your hand luggage. To reach Glasgow Airport without a car, the Glasgow Airport Express (service 500) runs from the city centre.

Should Scottish Pilgrims Fly From Manchester for a Direct Flight?
Only if one flight matters more than the journey south: Saudia flies direct from Manchester to Jeddah, about 6½ to 7 hours, but Manchester is a long road or rail trip from Glasgow. Yes, for the October break, Christmas and the summer; Scottish summer holidays start in late June, just after Umrah reopens following Hajj, and run to mid-August. In 2027 the February mid-term falls in Ramadan, and the Easter holidays come after the season's last entry date (23 March), with pilgrims home by 7 April. Glasgow City Council's dates are 12 to 16 October 2026 for the October week, 5 to 16 April 2027 for the spring break and 25 June 2027 for the start of summer; other councils differ, so check yours; each row below is a Glasgow package for one part of the year.
